Netflix released a trailer on Wednesday for their new original anime series Castlevania. The show is based on Konami’s game series of the same name. Castlevania is set to premiere on July 7th.
The series follows “the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself.”
It was announced in 2015 by producer Adi Shankar that he was working with Fred Seibert and Kevin Kolde on an animated series based on Konami’s Castlevania game series. More specifically, it is based on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. The game is set in 1476, when Dracula has Europe under his control. Trevor Belmont must journey in an attempt to defeat Dracula. Along the way, he enlists the help of others, including Dracula’s own son.
