Sound! Euphonium Anime Series Gets Two New Movies
The staff behind the Sound! Euphonium anime franchise announced on Sunday that the series will be getting two all-new films in 2018. One of the films will tell a new story about Nozomi Kasaki and Mizore Yoroizuka, the other film will tell the story of Kumiko and others as second-year students.
Naoko Yamada will be directing the first mentioned movie, with the original director of Sound! Euphonium, Tatsuya Ishihara, directing the second film.
Sound! Euphonium Synopsis:
After swearing off music due to an incident at the middle school regional brass band competition, euphonist Kumiko Oumae enters high school hoping for a fresh start. As fate would have it, she ends up being surrounded by people with an interest in the high school brass band. Kumiko finds the motivation she needs to make music once more with the help of her bandmates, some of whom are new like novice tubist Hazuki Katou; veteran contrabassist Sapphire Kawashima; and band vice president and fellow euphonist Asuka Tanaka. Others are old friends, like Kumiko’s childhood friend and hornist-turned-trombonist Shuuichi Tsukamoto, and trumpeter and bandmate from middle school, Reina Kousaka. (MAL Rewrite)
The series was originally adapted from the manga that began in November 2014. The first season of Sound! Euphonium aired in April 2015. Both seasons of the show are available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
