The staff for Kakegurui’s anime adaptation announced on Thursday that the series will get an anime-original ending. Homura Kawamoto, who is responsible for the original story, wrote up this different ending himself. The final episode will air in Japan on Saturday. Netflix will premiere Kakegurui in the United States and Canada on November 7th, with the rest of the territories outside of Japan getting the series on December 2nd.
Kakegurui began as a manga series in March 2014, with the story being written by Homura Kawamoto and the illustrations done by Tooru Naomura. The series was announced to be getting an anime adaptation in February, with the first episode airing on July 1st.
Yen Press explains the series:
Hyakkaou Private Academy. An institution for the privileged with a very peculiar curriculum. You see, when you’re the sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy, it’s not athletic prowess or book smarts that keep you ahead. It’s reading your opponent, the art of the deal. What better way to hone those skills than with a rigorous curriculum of gambling? At Hyakkaou Private Academy, the winners live like kings, and the losers are put through the wringer. But when Yumeko Jabami enrolls, she’s gonna teach these kids what a high roller really looks like!
