Happy Monday everyone! I’m delighted to be returning for Jotaku’s re-launch. This website truly is a special place for me, and I’m very thankful to have the ability to share my thoughts with such lovely people. I’d also like to clarify what I’m hoping to provide you all from here on out with my writing: weekly opinionated pieces, anime and manga reviews, and lastly- recommendations. I don’t have a ton of friends who are interested in anime and manga, but the ones that I do constantly ask me for a new series to watch or a different manga that they can pick up from the bookstore. That being said, I hope that you all enjoy everything that Jotaku has to offer; I know I’m looking forward to continuing my writing here on the site.
Now onto the premise of this piece- I think that a perfect way to start off, considering our re-launch, would be to share a few anime I’m looking forward to this season and why.
For starters, we have Violet Evergarden. I won’t go too much into detail or summary, but this anime has received a decent amount of praise so far. And its unique exploration of the fantasy and drama genres has me wanting to forget about the anime, and immediately go out and buy the light novel- which I’m sure is fantastic. The setting is original; it provides a singularity that practically invites all kinds of character development and plot unraveling. I know that I’m looking forward to the rest of this production, and I hope you all will join me in following what this story has to offer.
Next, there is A Place Further Than the Universe (Sora yori mo Tooi Basha). Once again, I won’t go too much into detail as far as summary and detail are concerned, but A Place Farther than the Universe is certainly something that I’m looking forward to. The premise of the plot is highly intriguing and based off of what I’ve seen so far, the production is very well done. Not to mention the absolutely amazing cast. So keep on the lookout for this anime- I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.
Lastly, we have Citrus. I could sit here and write you a dissertation about why this anime is undoubtedly my current favorite; however, I’ll save both you and myself the time and just tell you to drop everything and go watch the first episode if you haven’t. From stunning visuals and an amazing soundtrack to fascinating developments and twisted turns, this production is stellar. Yes, the anime is yuri, but truthfully the genre is irrelevant. The story is captivating, and I can say with certainty that you’ll be hooked if you give it a shot.
Once again, I’d like to give a warm welcome to all those who are visiting Jotaku! We truly appreciate your support. Should you have any opinions regarding any of my pieces, or any anime that you’d like to recommend, by all means, leave a comment below.
