Light novel editor Kazuma Miki and an anime producer for Sword Art Online, announced at an SAO and GGO presentation event on Saturday that the upcoming Sword Art Online: Alicization anime adaptation will cover the entirety of the Alicization Arc from Reki Kawahara’s original light novel series.
NOTE: To put this into perspective, the first two seasons of the Sword Art Online anime, span the first seven volumes in the series. This compared to the Alicization Arc, which spans a total of ten volumes.
The series will again see Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu returning as Kirito and Asuna. In addition, Ai Kayano and Nobunaga Shimazaki will be coming on board to play Alice and Eugeo respectively.
The ever-popular Sword Art Online series has already seen two television anime adaptations and a recent film. Many manga series, games, and other projects have also been inspired by the original novels. Skydance and Netflix are currently planning an upcoming live-action adaptation.
