On December 22, 2020 the official website for the Demon Slayer: Blood-Stench Blade Royale mobile game posted an update on the overall status of the game. They shared that Aniplex has decided to delay the game’s release on an indefinite basis to allow for improvement of the game’s quality.
Before the delay, the Demon Slayer mobile game was slated for release this year.
Demon Slayer Inspires Other Games
The mobile game’s concept, as a free-to-play game, will put teams of players who take on the role of demon slayers or demons against each other. It’s described as an “asymmetrical survival action game” and will let players use various characters from Demon Slayer.
Demon Slayer has also inspired another game that is separate from the mobile game. A PlayStation 4 game entitled Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppūtan is set to release in 2021. Aniplex will also publish this title.
The Demon Slayer manga came to an end in May 2020 after a four-year run and has served as inspiration for a new stage play that will premiere in the summer of 2021.
