An official website for Lupin III released a promotional video for a new anime series titled Lupin III: Part 6. Studio TMS Entertainment also said the release will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original Lupin III anime. Lupin III: Part 6 starts October 2021.

Along with a promotional video and a key visual, TMS Entertainment revealed further information about the production crew of the new series. Eiji Suganama (Lupin III: Prison of the Past) is joining to direct. Takahiro Ōkura (Lupin III: Part 5) is in charge of series’ composition. Hiroki Marufuji (Lupin III: Goodbye Partner) is overseeing character design for the series. Yuji Ohno is also joining the series to compose the music. The late Monkey Punch is credited for the new series original work.
The original manga by Monkey Punch is about the titular thief’s escapades. The series is incredibly popular and has inspired five previous television anime series and also spin-offs, as well as several successful theatrical anime films and a litany of television anime specials.
The most recent Lupin III anime television series to premiere was Lupin III: Part 5. The anime premiered on NTV’s popular AnichU programming block to domestic Japanese audiences April 2018 with a Crunchyroll simulcast stream as it aired in Japan. Lupin III: Part 4 was the first Lupin III anime series in nearly three decades starring Lupin himself, and it premiered in Japan in October 2015.
The smash hits of these series also paved the way for the most recent movie, Lupin III: The First, which premiered in 2019.
