The American division of Bandai Namco announced on Twitter last Wednesday that two new characters will be added as DLC to the 2019 Jump Force crossover fighting game. The two characters revealed to be Yoruichi Shihoin from Bleach and Giorno Giovanna from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. These characters will be downloadable for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions. Interestingly enough, fans of the game found out that the characters were being added through a technical issue that meant a smaller number of players had access to these characters. The developers quickly fixed the issue and added that Giorno is still a work in progress and that his moves may differ in the final version from what the developers accidentally released.
The game’s development was led by Japanese studio Spike Chunsoft, which is known for the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Danganropa series.
Other DLC characters released for Bandai Namco’s crossover fighting game include Toshiro Hitsugaya and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez from Bleach, Majin Buu from Dragon Ball Z, Biscuit Krueger from Hunter x Hunter, All Might from My Hero Academia, Madara Uchiha from Naruto, Trafalgar Law from One Piece, Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh!, and two originally designed characters from Akira Toriyama named Kane and Galena. The first Character Pass for the game allowed players to access all the DLC characters mentioned and include avatar costumes and skills in the DLC packs.
The game previously released its second Character Pass, including Meruem from Hunter x Hunter, Shoto Todoroki from My Hero Academia, and Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho. Meruem and Hiei will also make their debut in the Nintendo Switch version of the game in early 2021
Jump Force also had a deluxe edition release of the game available for Nintendo Switch. The version released on August 28th in the Americas and Europe, and in Japan and wider Asian areas on the 27th. The Switch version has a myriad of features, including local co-op play with two consoles and six-player local co-op matches on one console. By default, the Switch version includes all nine characters from the game’s first Character Pass.
