Crunchyroll announced yesterday that it has partnered with NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan to co-create new anime titles. The two companies did not announce anything specific, but that they are going for “international appeal.”
NBCUniversal is a home media distribution company and anime producer. Crunchyroll has previously acted as a distributor for some of their anime titles such as The Fruit of Grisaia, STARMYU 2, Drifters, Berserk, and Seven Mortal Sins.
Since Crunchyroll announced a joint venture with Sumitomo Corp. in 2015, they have since invested in more than two dozen anime productions.
