Kyoto Animation Opens Bank Account for Donations

kyoto animation fire

On July 18, 2019, there was an arson attack on Kyoto Animations headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. The attack resulted in the death of 35 people. The event was truly tragic and hopefully never happens again. Not long after the event, a GoFundMe was set up to aid victims of the attack. Since then, it has raised over $2 million USD and counting at the time of writing, gaining support from companies and individuals all over the world. The studio is well known for works such as Free! Iwatobi Swim Club, Beyond the Boundary, and Nichijou.

Five days after the event, Kyoto Animation opened a bank account to accept donations for those affected by the incident. Since then, there have already been many donations from companies within Japan and abroad. The support that they have received so far has been crucial to their rebuilding efforts. The link to the GoFundMe as well as the bank account information is below; I highly recommend you donate and support them their time of need.
