Kadokawa

KADOKAWA organizers announced on December 10th that the largest light novel expo event in the world, KADOKAWA Light Novel Expo 2020 will go ahead from March 6th to March 31st. The event will be simultaneously at a live venue and streamed online. The event will host many writers of popular light novels from the KADOKAWA’s five main light novel series: Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko, MF Bunko J, Dengeki Bunko, Famitsu Bunko, and Fujimi Fantasia Bunko. It will be the first time all of these publishers will be gathered to meet and greet fans.

The light novel expo was originally scheduled to be held at the Tokorozawa Sakura Town in the Saitama Prefecture this year over the course of two days, from the 10th to 11th of October. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event had to be postponed (as did many events this year). The main event can be streamed from the expo’s official website. The site will offer various talks and exhibitions projects that can be viewed at the ticket holders’ disposal. All the while, the talks and other con action will be available to see at the Torokozawa Sakura Town Venue.

The expo has special set events for Sword Art Online (Dengeki Bunko), Date A Live (Fujimi Fantasia Bunko), and Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World (MF Bunko J). The latter will be streamed on Nico Nico, Periscope, and YouTube Live (a live audience will not be in attendance for the event).

The event is boasting exclusive web autograph sessions for fans by their favorite creators of the five different imprints. In addition, the con is offering more than 2,000 exclusive autographed copies of books by popular creators with over 100 different titles for fans to choose from. These exclusive copies will be sold at the Da Vinci Store in the central Tokorozawa Sakura Town. Full details of the lineup of the books and the different purchase methods are supposed to be announced in the near future.
