On December 5, 2020, a new anime series entitled Code Geass: Z of the Recapture was announced during a YouTube livestream. The series will serve as a follow-up to the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection film that came out in 2019.
Although there is no release date yet, artwork was shown, along with the logo for the series, that displays familiar characters.
Alongside the art, Takahiro Kimura will once more be designing the characters. Yoshimitsu Ohashi will be directing the series. He previously worked on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 as well.
Code Geass mobile game announced
With the new series announcement, a new mobile game for the series was also announced. The game, Code Geass: Genesic Re:CODE, is slated to release in spring 2021. It will feature stories from the anime series and new stories that are set in the same world.
Since the game was announced, the official Twitter account has been sharing what appear to be images from the game itself. New animation can also be expected in the mobile game.
