The official website for season three of the series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (aka DanMachi) recently announced that the series will get a new original video anime (OVA) that will begin distribution on April 28, 2021. Fujino Omori and Suzuhito Yasuda‘s series, based on the light novel series of the same name, streamed an announcement video on their website and revealed a key visual.
The website teases the title for the OVA being Is It Wrong to Try to Go to a Hot Spring in Orario? ~God of Baths Forever~. More information about the series is set to be revealed at Abema’s GA FES 2021 festival on January 31st.
For the first run of the OVA’s distribution on Blu-ray disc and DVD release will include a special edition case with illustrations drawn by the lead character designer for the anime, Shigeki Kimoto. Also included will be an eight-page booklet and a bonus CD featuring the song from the series Men and Women are Labyrinths by the series’ voice actress for Hestia and Ais, Inori Minase.
The OVA comes after the third season of the anime, which premiered after a brief delay on October 2nd. The series had been set back from its original release date of July this year due to the effects of COVID-19. The OVA announcement comes just a day after the third series ended. Sentai Filmworks had licensed the season, and the anime was streaming on HIDIVE as well as Crunchyroll.
The third season featured all returning staff members at J.C. Staff and voice cast, with the addition of Rina Hidaka joining as the character Wiene, who was teased at the finale of the second season. Yuki Iguchi returned to perform the anime’s opening theme “Over and Over” while the band sajou no hana performed the anime’s ending theme. As of now, it is unclear whether or not these two will return for the OVA, but fans are hopeful.
The first season of the anime premiered in April 2015 and had a successful 13-episode run, meeting fan and critic praise. The second season was similarly beloved and premiered in July 2019 with a 12-episode run. Gods of Baths Forever will not be the first OVA the series had, with two coming before it titled Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria, the first being a film and the second being a spin-off television series.
The original novel series, the Sword Oratoria spin-off series, and their respective manga adaptations are being released by Yen Press in North America and other English-speaking territories.
