Today an anime adaptation of My Wife Has No Emotion was announced for the sci-fi romantic comedy manga series. The anime airs in July 2024 and will be produced by studio Tezuka Productions. Set to direct the series is Fumihiro Yoshimura, who previously directed the anime Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte.
Series composition will be by Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend) while character design is by animator Tsuyoshi Sasaki (Oshi no Ko, My Hero Academia, Kaguya-sama: Love is War). The emotionless wife Mina will be voiced by Konomi Inagaki (Do It Yourself, Synduality Noir, Gundam: Witch From Mercury). Mina’s husband, the lead male character Takuma Kosugi, will be voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Buddy Daddies, Bungo Stray Dogs).

Takuma is a single guy who does nothing but go to work and come home. Too tired to do chores, he decides to get a robot to cook and keep house. “Mina-chan” is such a good housekeeper, Takuma jokes that she should become his wife. Mina takes Takuma’s joke seriously, and slowly the two start doing more things together, like having a picnic outside. As time goes by, Takuma starts to fall for Mina, but can a human and a robot ever have an equal, loving relationship?
My Wife Has No Emotion was originally a manga series by Jirou Sugiura. The manga began publishing in March 2019 and is still releasing now. It is currently licensed for an English release by Seven Seas Entertainment. Six volumes of the series are available in English to purchase digitally and physically via Amazon.
