Dr. STONE: Science Future Anime Final Season Coming 2025

On Sunday, the official Twitter for the Dr. STONE anime announced the final season will be broadcast in 2025. This fourth and final season is titled Dr. STONE: Science Future and will be split across three seasonal cours throughout the year. Along with the announcement was the reveal of the new season’s key visual, which can be seen below. The anime will be produced by animation studio TMS Entertainment. Crunchyroll previously confirmed during Anime Expo 2024 that they will stream Dr. STONE: Science Future.

Dr. STONE tells the story of teenage genius Senku after the world was petrified into stone statues for several millenia. Thrust into a post apocalyptic world, Senku aims to bring humanity back to the age of science at breakneck speed using the tools of this stone world.

The original manga for Dr. STONE was written by Riichiro Inagaki with art by Boichi and started serialization in March 2017. The shonen series concluded in March 2022 and had 27 published volumes later on. Dr. STONE originally ran in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Viz Media handled the English release of the series, both digitally and in print.

The first anime adaptation of this post apocalyptic sci-fi adventure story began broadcasting in July 2019. It ended up being the eighth most viewed anime on Netflix in Japan that same year. There are currently three seasons of the anime, which includes Dr. STONE, Dr. STONE: Stone Wars, and Dr. STONE: New World along with a special episode, Dr. STONE: Ryusui. These adaptations of Dr. STONE are all animated by studio TMS Entertainment.

Dr. STONE is currently available to stream now over on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu.
