Announced on July 20th, Kodansha Comics announced that they would be debuting same-day chapters of manga A Sign of Affection. These simulpub chapters will be available on a monthly basis for USD $1.99. It will be available on the following platforms: Amazon Kindle, BookWalker, Crunchyroll, and comiXology.
A Sign of Affection’s Publication
Suu Morishita originally launched the manga via Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in July 2017. The second volume was released digitally in English on July 7 and currently the manga is available in digital volume format.
According to Kodansha, the print edition will begin shipping in Spring 2021. Kodansha Comics’ offers this synopsis of the story:
Yuki is a typical college student, whose world revolves around her friends, social media, and the latest sales. But when a chance encounter on a train leads to her meeting friend-of-a-friend and fellow student Itsuomi-san, her world starts to widen. But even though Itsuomi-kun can speak three languages, sign language isn’t one of them. Can the two learn to communicate the budding feelings between them?
Interview With Manga Creators
Alongside the simulpub announcement, Kodansha Comics also published an interview with collective manga creators Suu Morishita. In the interview, both creators discuss how they met, what inspired A Sign of Affection, and some of the research they did for the manga.
