Crunchyroll Adds Three New Anime!
Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it is adding three anime series to its catalog. The anime are Rage of Bahamut Genesis, Mikagura School Suite and Romeo X Juliet. All three series are currently available on FunimationNow with English audio.
All three series have been planned to air on Thursday May 4th 2017.
Rage of Bahamut Genesis
Rage of Bahamut Genesis launched at 7:00 P.M EDT in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland. It first premiered in October 2014/ Funimation streamed the series as it aired in Japan and then released the series on home video later on. Funimation describes the anime as follows:
“Two thousand years ago, the black-and-silver-winged dragon, Bahamut, terrorized the magical land of Mistarcia. The humans, god, and demons that inhabited the land united forces against the fiend and sealed its power into a key which was split in two, one half protected by gods and the other protected by demons. Now, Mistarcia is a peaceful realm – until a human woman steals the god’s half of the key.”
The sequel, Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul, premiered last month during the spring anime season. Amazon’s Anime Strike have been streaming the series as it airs in Japan.
Mikagura School Suite
Mikagura School Suite launched at 7:30 P.M EDT in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, New Zealand and Australia. Crunchyroll have described the story as follows:
“Like most awkward teens, formerly reclusive gamer Eruna Ichinomiya struggles to find her place at Mikagura High School. But her experience is far from ordinary. The mischief-making members of the school’s manga, calligraphy, drama, and other cultural clubs vie for total school domination in a rather extreme way—ULTIMATE ATTACKS.”
The series premiered in April 2015 and Funimation streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles, and with a broadcast dub. Funimation then released the series on home video.
One Peace Books plan to release Last Note’s original Mikagura School Suite light novel series and its manga adaptation in August and September 2017.
Romeo X Juliet
Romeo X Juliet launched at 8:00 P.M in the United States and Canada. Crunchyroll have described the story as follows:
“As Juliet prepares to raise her sword against the tyrant whose hands are stained by the blood of her ancestors, only Romeo stands in her way—the boy she loves and the son of the man she must kill. She is the last breath of a dying line of kings, and the final hope of a city that desperately needs her.”
Romeo X Juliet premiered in 2007 and Funimation announced back in 2008 that they have licensed the anime. They have released the series on DVD in North America.
