This Thursday, Funimation announced the English release of the Yu Yu Hakusho OVA. New York Comic Con is always an exciting time for anime fans. Those lucky enough to attend weren’t disappointed by turn out. One of the big highlights came during their Yu Yu Hakusho reunion panel.
With the original English dubs cast, including Justin Cook as Yusuke Urameshi and Christopher Sabat as Kazuma Kuwabara, they announced the Yu Yu Hakusho OVA release. Funimation said that the OVA will have two new episodes: “Two Shots” and “All or Nothing”.
Yu Yu Hakasho OVA includes two new episodes
The OVA premiered at TOHO Cinemas in Japan last October. The Japanese OVA was included in anime’s 25th anniversary collection which released towards the end of that month.

“Two Shots” tells us the story of how Kurama and Hiei first met one another. Meanwhile “All or Nothing” shows us the two reuniting to tackle a hostage situation in the spirit world.
Funimation hasn’t announced the release date for the Yu Yu Hakusho OVA yet. But they confirmed that the OVA would be releasing with both English subtitles and an English dub.
Justin Cook and Christopher Sabat will be returning to their iconic roles. The last time they recorded for the show was in 2011 for the remastered Blu-ray release. The brief reprise of the roles being mainly for minor improvements to the original dub involving re-dubbing certain lines and to clean up anomalies in dialogue. Justin Cook expressed his excitement for his return to the role saying “Anytime we can return to the skins of these characters, that’s awesome.”
