Gakuto Mikumo’s action light novel series Strike the Blood will be returning for a fourth series. Mikumo and Manyako (illustrator) are also working on a new original story that will be adapted into another OVA.
It was announced at the Dengeki Bunko Aki no Namahōsō Festival on Sunday. The new OVA is called Strike The Blood: Kieta Seisō-hen (Disappearing Holy Lance Arc). Fans also got a look at the trailer and a key visual being for the OVA episode. The Strike the Blood IV OVA series will air with a total of twelve episodes, split into two episodes for six individual home releases.
Hideo Yamamoto is directing both the fourth series and the new OVA. He returns from directing the three previous Strike The Blood series, with animation provided from studio CONNECT. The staff also includes writing from Hiroyuki Yoshino with composing from Assumed Sounds. In addition Kishida Kyōdan & The Akeboshi Rockets will be performing the opening theme while Risa Taneda will be performing the ending theme. The anime will feature a returning cast from the previous three series.
The Strike The Blood: Kieta Seisō-hen OVA ships January 29th, 2020. While the first part of Strike The Blood IV OVA series will air on March 25th, 2020. The dates for the other five releases are as follows. June 24th, September 30th, December 23rd, March 24th, and finally June 30th 2021.
