Asahi Broadcasting Corporation’s animation planning company, ABC Animation, announced that they have established a CG anime studio to produce new animation.

Based in Tokyo, ABC Animation is recruiting for CG line producers and CG production manager roles to assist in managing animation production.

With CG included in each role’s description, this points to a focus on CG specific animation. They also say in the job posting that they will launch their content from both business and creative sides.

History Behind ABC Animation

Established back in 1951 as an AM radio broadcaster, Asahi Broadcasting grew and later expanded into television. Their animation planning studio was founded in 2016. Now they handle the creation and licensing of various animated shows and movies. This includes overseas distribution as well.

ABC Animation CEO, Masayuki Nishide, posted the following message about the company on their website last year:

Besides the “Pretty Cure” Series… we did some works on planning and production to secondary use of anime programs / movies for young adults... I want to keep making good kids animation that will remain in the hearts of children.

This year, the 3rd established year for ABC Animation, we aim to cover all business areas of animation content. We will also challenge things new. In particular, I would like to focus on the production of global kids content and the cultivation of producers who will be responsible for it.

The studio also has a large hand in managing foreign and domestic marketing for anime and handling Asahi Broadcasting’s various needs. Some notable series that ABC Animation has had a hand in include: Free!, A Silent Voice, and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
