Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed in it’s 33rd and 34th issue two new cast members for Food Wars! The Fifth Plate. This will be the fifth season of the Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma) anime. The new cast will include Yuka Iguchi as Lanterby and Junya Enoki as Tommy Revolver.
Iguchi has provided voices in Monogatari, Haganai, Symphogear, and a variety of video games as well. Meanwhile, Enoki has done voice work in anime like Haikyu!!, Dorohedoro, and the forthcoming Cells at Work! Code Black.
These new characters will appear in the fourth episode, which will see the start of “The Blue” competition, once the fifth season resumes airing.
Food Wars delayed due to COVID-19
The fifth season began airing on April 10, 2020, but new episodes were Delayed in mid-April due to the effects of COVID-19 that impacted much of the anime industry. The season did resume its broadcast from the first episode on July 3rd.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime as it continues to air.
