2020 was a sad year for congoers, as the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible for in-person conventions to be held. We were fortunate enough to have some online conventions, though, but it wasn’t the same as feeling that fan comradery and ambience that comes with attending a live anime convention. Luckily, this year things are looking up. With the future looking brighter regarding the coronavirus, in-person conventions are getting ready to open their doors once more. While it may take a while for COVID-19 vaccines to be distributed, anime conventions for later in the year are more guaranteed than ones set in the next few months.
Regardless of what may or may not happen in the next few weeks and months, the following list shows the updated list of anime conventions around the world for 2021 (as of January 26, 2021), including online cons, which cons have been postponed or canceled, and which are still on for the full anime convention experience this year:
