The official team behind Fruits Basket has given fans an extra surprise this month! Last Friday, the illustrator of the shojo series, Manamoko, posted on Twitter that the team had created a special island for players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The Twitter post included screenshots of the island, complete with images of leading characters and zodiac animals drawn in the sand. If you are interested in visiting this island yourself, you just need to add in the following code: DA-8458-4531-4562.
According to Nintendolife.com, players can enjoy many sights on this cute little island, including the Sohma estate and Shigure’s house. You can even download little patches with the characters’ faces on them for your own island! These patterns can be obtained through the following design code: MA-0019-7722-5775.
Fruits Basket is the story of a teenaged girl named Tohru Honda and her experiences with the mysterious Sohma family, who she soon learns are members of the Chinese zodiac. This newest series has been a hit, with this final season, titled Fruits Basket: The Final, finishing up this TV anime adaptation of the beloved series.
Fruits Basket stems from the award-winning shojo manga series, of the same name, by Natsuki Takaya. It was first adapted as a TV anime series in 2001, but it strayed from the storyline of the manga series and consisted only of 26 episodes. After almost two decades, the show was picked back up for a new reboot in 2019. This new reboot is on its third and final season and has very closely adapted the manga series for a more satisfying, complete anime adaptation for the series.
Fans have been in love with this new adaptation, and the ending will surely be bittersweet for the fandom. But it’s fun things like this Animal Crossing island that makes it all even sweeter. When the third season premiered, there were even special bubble teas people could get that were based off of some of the leading characters.
