Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2
You know the feeling when you like an anime series and predict that it’ll get another season and you end up being correct? I have that right now! On May 5th, 2019 an announcement was made on the series’ Twitter that The Quintessential Quintuplets season two had been green-lit and is in production. The reason they announced it on May 5th was because it was the quintuplets’ birthday.
With fans of the series bummed out on how the first seasoned ended, many fans of the manga are pleased to know what’s in store for this upcoming season. With more drama and antics on the way, the new season is sure to be a hit like the first. Direct from an article released by Oricon “The manga has released up to nine volumes, surpassing the total circulation of 4.5 million copies.” (translated) that has more than enough reason for another season to be announced.
What to look forward to
To keep this spoiler-free for the people who only watch the anime series, I’ll keep this brief. With the first season covering the first four volumes of the manga, we have lots of material to work with. Expect some big developments in each of the quintuplets and Uesugi included. The anime studio that produced the series stayed linear to the manga. We can expect that The Quintessential Quintuplets season 2 will be no different. We don’t have a release date yet from their social media. It will likely be released either Winter 2020 or Spring 2020.
Last Thoughts
With the series being the dark horse of weekly manga, I most definitely recommend you pick up this series if you have the chance. With its wholesome story and fresh take on the oversaturated harem genre, its a must read in my book. Six of nine volumes released are in English and are available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. So, support your manga creator by purchasing the volumes.
