Earlier today, Netflix accidentally leaked the listing of the live action adaptation of One Piece on their platform.
One Piece was seen listed as an upcoming title on Netflix, and it’s believed that this listing is for the upcoming live action adaptation of the popular pirate adventure franchise.
The leak was discovered by ResetEra and Twitter users who found a link to the listing with the synopsis for the show.
At first, the Netflix listing lead to a page with the synopsis of a One Piece US TV show. At the time of writing, the link now redirects to either the Netflix main page or an error screen.
The synopsis of the show read: “Monkey D. Luffy sets sail with his trusty crew to find the One Piece treasure and become the ultimate Pirate King! Based on the Manga by Eiichiro Oda.”
With the 2017 announcements of Tomorrow Studios working on live action adaptations for both Cowboy Bebop and One Piece, it’s very likely that this is the listing for the live action One Piece adaptation.
Netflix also hosts live action adaptations for Death Note, Kakegurui, Bleach, FullMetal Alchemist, and Mob Psycho 100. Many of their live action anime adaptations have received very mixed reviews.
One Piece is a Shonen Jump manga that became serialized on July 22, 1997. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy on a quest with his crew to become the pirate king.
