June 24th, Kyoto Animation revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Violet Evergarden: The Movie and confirmed its release date.
Violet Evergarden: The Movie coming September 18th, 2020
After months of not knowing when the new Violet Evergarden film would be released, the news is finally upon us! Violet Evergarden: The Movie releases in Japan on September 18, 2020.
It may take a few weeks or months to get it on Netflix out West. Hopefully the film also runs in theaters outside of Japan. A lot of times, at least in North America, anime films will get a few days on screen before leaving until its DVD release.
New trailer and theme song for upcoming Kyoto Animation film
The new trailer features both the release date and its theme song “WILL” by Japanese artist TRUE. The song’s release was pushed back due to delays affecting Violet Evergarden: The Movie, but now it’s coming out on September 16, 2020.
The original release date for this film January 2020, but suffered delays after the arson attack last year on Kyoto Animation. The project was postponed until April and then COVID-19 came, hitting the studio with another blow.
Thankfully, it looks like we won’t have to wait until 2021 to see what happens next in Violet’s life and whether or not she will end up with the one person she truly loves in the world: Major Gilbert.
We are excited to watch Violet’s story unfold further and eagerly anticipate the opening of Violet Evergarden: The Movie.
