On February 25, 2021, the official Twitter accounts for both Kingdom Hearts Union χ [Cross] and Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, announced that the mobile games will end service on May 30, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. PDT.

In the announcement made on the Kingdom Hearts Union χ Twitter post, director of the series, Tetsuya Nomura, stated that “As previously announced, the final chapter of Kingdom Hearts Union χ has been written and the story will be coming to a close.”

Along with the announcement of the service end date, the official website for both games stated that offline versions will be available. Players will be able to replay Union χ in theater mode while Dark Road will be playable offline.

Players will be able to transfer their current data to the offline version of each game as well. However, sales of jewels, the in-game paid currency, have ended.

Once the May 30th end date has passed, the online version of both Union χ  and Dark Road will receive an update. This update will transition both games into the offline versions. This offline version will be available for free.

Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts mobile games started with Kingdom Hearts χ (pronounced as “key”), which was initially released in 2013. The game allowed players to make their own avatar and play as a keyblade wielder during the Keyblade War.
