Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Season 2 Additional Cast Revealed

Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!

More announcements have been made regarding the upcoming release of the second season of Take‘s Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! (Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!). Last Friday, the staff for the television anime announced two more cast members and also revealed the title of the anime’s second season. Along with this came an English-subtitled teaser and an updated visual.

The title of the second season is Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! ω. “ω” is the lowercase Greek letter for omega and is pronounced as “double.” It is a common form of Japanese written slang. The new season is set to air this year but with no release date confirmed as of yet.

The two newly revealed cast members joining the roster this season are:

  • Seina Katō as Yanagi, Uzaki’s little sister
  • Hideo Ishikawa as Fujio, Uzaki’s father

The first season of the anime premiered in Japan on July 10, 2020, and had a 12-episode run. Funimation streamed the season on simulcast as it aired in Japan.

Kazuya Miura (who has worked on Kemono Michi: Rise Up and DRAMAtical Murder) directed the first season of the manga’s anime adaptation. The first season was produced at the studio ENGI, known for their work producing Kemono Michi: Rise Up. Takashi Aoshima (who has worked on both seasons of Yuruyuri – Happy Go Lily, Himouto! Umaru-chan, and Survival Game Club!) wrote for the first season. Lastly, Manabu Kurihara (who previously worked on Kemono Michi: Rise Up) designed the characters for the series as its lead.

Seven Seas, who is releasing the manga in English overseas, describes the story as follows:

“Sakurai Shinichi’s one wish is for a little peace and quiet. But Uzaki Hana–his boisterous, well-endowed underclassman–has other plans. All she wants is to hang out and poke fun at him. With the help of her chipper charm and peppy persistence, this might just be the start of a beautiful relationship!”

Take originally launched the Uzaki-Chan manga on the media-sharing site Niconico in December 2017 as part of the Dra Dra Sharp# brand.
