On June 1st, horror author Yukito Ayasuji announced he submitted the final draft for his compilation sequel series, Another 2001. The compilation’s final draft is 1,200 pages and he hopes to see it released in September 2020.
The horror author is back with “Another 2001”
Another 2001 is the second sequel to Ayasuji’s novel Another. The sequel was first launched in Shousetsu Yasei Jidai magazine on October 2014 and then it ended in January 2020.
Other works inspired by the Ayasuji’s novel
You might know Ayasuji’s novel Another through the 2012 anime adaptation produced by P.A. Works, or through the manga adaptation by Hiro Kiyohara. The series had quite the following in the early 2010s, enough so that even a live action film based on the original novel was released in 2012.
Publisher Yen Press describes the original Another novel with the following synopsis:
Summer, 1998. Mei Misaki, age fifteen, has gone with her family to their seaside vacation home. There she meets the ghost of Teruya Sakaki, her classmate from Yomiyama North Middle School Class 3-3 who, like Mei, witnessed the mysterious events that had transpired at the school. There begins an adventure of memory and mystery as they search for the ghost’s body and his memories alike.
It’s exciting to see a large compilation put together for the of the Another sequel. It’s sure to have a lot of horror packed in!
